<strong>Location:</strong> Brisbane (2 days WFH per week, 9 days fotnight)<br> <br>BLACKROC is proud to be partnering with a leading organisation to recruit a <strong>Cyber Security Engineer</strong> on a <strong>permanent basis</strong>. This role offers the opportunity to work across cutting-edge cloud environments, uplift security capabilities, and play a hands-on role in protecting critical digital assets.<br> <br><strong>Role Purpose</strong> <br>The Cyber Security Engineer will design, implement, and maintain security controls across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments. Reporting to the Cyber Security Lead, this role works closely with internal technology teams and a Managed Detection & Response (MDR) provider to deliver secure, compliant, and resilient infrastructure.<br> <strong>Key Responsibilities</strong> <ul> <li>Implement and maintain security controls across Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra ID, and Defender suite.</li> <li>Monitor, triage, and respond to security events using SIEM and EDR platforms.</li> <li>Support identity-driven security, zero trust, and vulnerability management initiatives.</li> <li>Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure and endpoint security.</li> <li>Assist with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, Essential 8, NIST CSF).</li> <li>Contribute to security uplift projects, cloud migrations, and risk management programs.</li> <li>Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and mentor junior staff where required.</li> </ul> <strong>Required Skills & Experience</strong> <ul> <li>5+ years’ experience in a Cyber Security Engineering role.</li> <li>Expertise in Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, and Microsoft Defender.</li> <li>Experience with SIEM/EDR platforms, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management.</li> <li>Knowledge of compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, Essential 8, NIST CSF).</li> <li>Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.</li> </ul> This is a fantastic opportunity for a security engineer looking to join a supportive team environment and work on meaningful projects that make an impact.<br> <br> Please click the <strong>‘Apply’</strong> button to submit your resume.
