Principal Site Reliability Engineer (AWS)

<strong>MUST be an Australian Citizen to be eligible to apply.&nbsp;<br></strong><br> We're looking for a <strong>Principal-level Site Reliability Engineer</strong> (or a seasoned senior ready to step up) to take full ownership of platform reliability across a high-impact, fast-moving product team.<br><br> In this role, you won&rsquo;t just be keeping the lights on, you&rsquo;ll lead the thinking on how we design, scale, monitor, and automate systems from the ground up. You&rsquo;ll work closely with engineering and architecture teams to deeply influence how we build and operate across the stack.<br><br><strong>What you'll be doing:</strong> <ul> <li>Lead reliability across both application and infrastructure layers</li> <li>Identify and implement key observability metrics and preventative measures</li> <li>Automate infrastructure, incident response and operations workflows</li> <li>Drive scalable system design and shape long-term platform architecture</li> <li>Collaborate across product, cloud, and dev teams to solve complex system challenges</li> <li>Take the lead in incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability reviews</li> <li>Contribute to monitoring strategies across <strong>web and mobile platforms</strong>, using tools like <strong>Dynatrace, Firebase, and Crashlytics</strong></li> </ul> <strong>You'll thrive if you bring:</strong> <ul> <li>Deep hands-on AWS experience (CloudWatch, EKS, RDS, VPC, IAM, etc.)</li> <li>Strong infrastructure-as-code skills (Terraform, Helm)</li> <li>Confidence working with Kubernetes, containers, GitOps practices</li> <li>Proven experience with observability tooling (Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry, Splunk)</li> <li>Experience configuring <strong>mobile application monitoring</strong> using Dynatrace, Firebase &amp; Crashlytics</li> <li>Bonus: TypeScript or Golang skills, and exposure to service mesh architectures</li> </ul> <strong>Why join?</strong> <ul> <li>Initial 12 month contract w/ on-going extensions</li> <li>High autonomy + ownership in a Principal-level capacity</li> <li>Embedded within a product team &ndash; influence, don&rsquo;t just support</li> <li>A proactive SRE culture: preventative not reactive, blameless not bureaucratic</li> <li>Flexible work environment with strong engineering leadership backing reliability</li> </ul> This role is perfect for someone who thinks in systems, thrives on impact, and wants to build with reliability front-of-mind from day one.
