IT Infrastructure Engineer

<strong>Contract Details:</strong><br> <ul> <li>Duration: 12 Months (with potential to extend)</li> <li>Location: Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne</li> <li>Work Arrangements: 2 Days WFH per Week</li> <li><strong>Please note: Australian Citizenship is MANDATORY for this position.</strong></li> </ul> BLACKROC is partnering with a major Federal government agency to find a skilled IT Infrastructure Engineer, specialising in Red Hat OpenShift administration. This is a high-impact role within a large-scale, mission-critical environment.<br><br> <strong>Role Purpose:</strong><br> As an experienced OpenShift Administrator, you'll manage, secure, and scale OpenShift infrastructure in complex public sector environments. You&rsquo;ll play a leading role in automation, mentoring, and cluster operations while ensuring compliance with security frameworks.<br>&nbsp;<br> <strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong><br> <ul> <li>Design, configure and manage OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters</li> <li>Drive automation using Terraform, Ansible, Helm</li> <li>Assist developers with containerised deployment via CI/CD</li> <li>Ensure compliance and security across infrastructure</li> <li>Lead projects and provide mentorship to junior engineers</li> <li>Collaborate with internal teams to meet service delivery goals</li> </ul> <strong>Required Experience:</strong><br> <ul> <li>5+ years of system admin, 3+ years in Kubernetes/OpenShift</li> <li>Red Hat certification (or commitment to obtain)</li> <li>Experience in regulated or government environments</li> <li>Deep skills in Kubernetes, Git, Linux, Python/Bash</li> </ul> <strong>Desirable:</strong><br> <ul> <li>Certifications: AWS, Azure, GCP, CKA</li> <li>Strong scripting and DevOps tooling skills</li> </ul> Please click the 'Apply' button to submit your resume and cover letter.
