Network Engineer - Contract - Up to $750 p/d.

This is a full time 12 month contract for Network professionals based in Canberra, offering up to $750 per day.

BLACKROC has partnered with an Australian government organisation, looking to grow their Infrastructure Support team who are responsible for the design, delivery and maintenance of their infrastructure platforms for internal and external clients. 

You will work as an experienced engineer within of talented team of Network Engineers, focusing on managing all the management and monitoring of several user environments. This space will see you working on technical projects and improvements across the IT department, while coordinating with the CTO and Infrastructure Manager. 

You will:

• Lead the development and maintenance of the agencies network infrastructure.
• Perform regular security checks and auditing of firewall implementation
• Communicate, build and maintain effective working relationships internal staff and managers.
• Work on the implementation of technical management changes and activities.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of the organisations operations.
• Investigate and solve complex technical problems assigned to the team.

Experience/Skills you’ll ideally have:

• 5+ years as a Network Engineer/Network management 
• Demonstrated experience working with project design and deployment experience.
• Experience with a range of vendor firewall solutions, including Checkpoint and/or Cisco ASAs
• Centralised management and monitoring tools for firewalls and network devices
• IDS/IPS solutions

Bonus if you have experience with:

• VMware NSX
• FireEye
• Cisco
• Juniper
• Bigswitch

Essential Criteria:

• Demonstrated experience leading teams
• Must be Australia Citizen
• The ability to obtain an NV1 Clearance
