We are seeking a people-centric Change Manager to lead a critical project focused on improving mental health practices and outcomes within an organisation in the insurance sector.

This role will directly impact 400 front-line workers and leaders, with an emphasis on aligning practices to better manage the growth and cost associated with mental health claims.

As the Change Manager, you will oversee three key project streams: Claims Management Best Practice, Employee Influence, and Government Sector – First Responders.

Your focus will be on developing and implementing best practice change management strategies for mental health within the organisation. Your efforts will directly contribute to a healthier, more supportive environment for their workforce, particularly within the claims management space.

You will:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the claims team, focusing initially on the claims management team
  • Partner with leaders across the organisation to align mental health initiatives with broader organisational goals
  • Implement best practices for managing mental health claims, addressing both primary and secondary mental injuries
  • Develop and execute change management strategies that reinforce positive practices and manage resistance effectively
  • Facilitate coaching and mentoring sessions to build confidence and skills within the claims management team, many of whom have long tenures and require support in adapting to new practices
  • Ensure clear, consistent communication across all levels of the organisation to support mental health initiatives
  • Role model change, working closely with subject matter experts to address gaps and drive project success
  • Foster a humanistic and empathetic approach to change, connecting individuals to the broader mission of improving mental health outcomes

What we're looking for:
  • Extensive experience in business process change management where you have utilised a people-centric and humanistic approach
  • Passion for mental health change, even if lacking specific experience in the mental health sector
  • You will have a vision aligned with the organisation's goals, demonstrating the ability to implement a clear plan and inspire others
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage resistance to change and reinforce the need for change
  • Agile and adaptable, capable of flexing strategies to meet evolving project needs
  • Empathetic yet objective, able to facilitate reflection and connection to the organisation's broader mission
