BLACKROC is partnering with a Federal Government client to find an Assistant Director - Project Management Office for a 12 month contract.
  
As the Assistant Director of the PMO you will collaborate closely with the Director to oversee and manage all facets of project management, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives. This role requires exemplary leadership, strategic acumen, and exceptional project management skills to drive successful project outcomes and bolster the efficiency of our Project Management Office
  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project managers and team members, ensuring effective project execution.
  • Cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the PMO.
  • Oversee the development and management of project portfolios,
  • Monitor project performance against established goals, metrics, and KPIs, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews to assess project status, risks, and dependencies, communicating findings to senior leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement of project management processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices in project management.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for senior leadership and stakeholders on project-related matters, providing regular updates and insights.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and cross-functional departments to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Manage expectations and resolve conflicts to maintain positive relationships and support project success.
  • Mentor and coach project managers and team members to enhance their project management skills and capabilities.  
About you:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an ICT project management office role, with 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, project portfolio management, and process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Prior experience working with government organisations and understanding of government processes and regulations
