The Company
BLACKROC are seeking a talented UI/UX Designer to join a software company specialising in creating digital products for the fire industry. With the main goal to save lives, you will be working alongside the in-house development team on a product that will assist fire protection contractors to meet the requirements of Australian and New Zealand standards, and deliver exceptional services to their customers. This is a company with big plans already having started their journey to global expansion, of which you will be a key factor in adding to the success and making it happen.
The Role
You will predominantly be working within the mobile app team to conduct research, design and refine products. You will also be responsible for bringing the UI to life, improving existing features and flows, and introducing new features.

Responsibilities
- Conducting user interviews, working closely with customers to understand their needs.
- Confidently communicating findings and design decisions to the product team and broader business.
- Understand and meet business and growth objectives.
- Work with the product team to create, develop and grow design system and standards.
- Educate the business on good practices in user experience and design.
- Work with the subject matter experts to understand what best practice looks like for fire protection businesses and the industry.
- Understand and apply quality assurance to make sure all designs are being delivered on before they reach user's hands.

- Qualifications or 2+ years relevant experience as a User Experience Designer or Digital Product Designer.
- You understand user-centred approaches and are passionate about understanding users' needs and behaviours.
- Can communicate your process and the 'why' behind your decisions
- You thrive in a collaborative workplace; partnering with customers, designers, developers and key stakeholders.
- Know your way around tools such as Figma, Miro, Adobe CC, and Sketch.
- UI/graphic design skills to evolve and grow our design system and standards
