BLACKROC are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and support <7 engineers working across two delivery streams. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of product features across our their platform, which is currently undergoing a modernization effort with a move to a React/Node.js stack. As the Engineering Manager, you will balance technical delivery responsibilities with hands-on mentorship, driving both the development and growth of your team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 6-7 engineers across two delivery streams. Foster a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the technical delivery of product features, including solution architecture, scoping, task breakdown, and quality control. Ensure features are developed efficiently and meet high standards of performance and usability.
- Provide hands-on guidance and technical support to engineers within your streams. Help resolve complex technical challenges and promote best practices in software development.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize features and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Track team velocity, monitor progress, and identify potential blockers or issues. Resolve technical and process-related challenges to maintain smooth project flow.
- Manage the professional development and career growth of your engineers. Conduct performance reviews, set clear objectives, and provide feedback and mentoring to help team members achieve their career goals.
- Lead the transition and development of new features on the modernized React/Node.js stack, while also overseeing the re-write of existing features to align with the new architecture.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong technical background in modern web technologies, especially with React, Node.js, and cloud platforms. Experience in transitioning or modernizing legacy systems is a plus.
- Proven track record in managing engineering teams and cross-functional collaboration. Strong ability to balance hands-on leadership with high-level technical oversight.
- Experienced in Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Previous experience working in a SaaS company would be highly desirable.
