This organisation is now looking for a Lead Product Designer to pave the way and show them the impact and value of good UX. This is a role for a Design Leader who wants to have a big impact and work with switched-on product thinkers as they set up product best practice and scale the design capability.

You will get to solve real and complex problems for the users and measure the impact of these.

You will be responsible for the overall user experience of a product and are focused on customers and the creation of customer value. You will evangelize Design and Research Ops and be the UX representative, taking the business on a journey. You will also help grow the Design team and improve capability across the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and engineers on product discovery and priotisation.
  • Contribute to the product strategy by validating solutions and ideas, testing assumptions and hypotheses before they go into production.
  • Interact with users and understand their day-to-day, continually building empathy and then evangelizing user-empathy throughout the business.
  • Incorporate user research and regular usability testing of designs,  validating prototypes and incrementally refining ideas.
  • Uncover new insights on every step of the discovery process, measure test, and learn to continually improve the experience for users.
  • Own and drive the holistic user experience on the customer's end to end journey, optimizing workflows wherever possible.
  • Create lo and hi-fi prototypes for testing and experimentation purposes and once validated take through to hi-fi UI mockups.
  • Facilitate workshops to dive deeper into requirements, problem identification, and brainstorming sessions.
  • Mentor and coach other Product Designers ensuring design processes are effective and scalable, eg. design system.
  • Create a community of best practice for product design; building out research practices, tools, processes, and educate others on design concepts as well as the importance of good design.
About You:
  • You are either currently a UX Lead / Product Design Lead or a Senior Product Design looking for the next career step.
  • You have led, coached or mentored other Designers, ideally product-side.
  • Proven senior product design experience (and the portfolio to prove it).
  • You have strong product discovery practices, continually bringing the business back to understanding what the user need is.
  • You love working on complex problems and reducing cognitive load for users who spend hours per day on software.
  • Demonstrated experience running collaborative design workshops (e.g. design studio, design sprints).
  • Proven UX experience in defining personas and goals, storyboarding and elaboration, and design thinking.
  • You understand the value of doing UX research up front and can link the outcomes you have created with the research you conducted.
  • Proven UI experience in creating clear and compelling visual designs and engaging users with practical and beautiful design.
  • Experience with design systems, you love the business efficiency they create so you can spend more time solving complex problems.
  • You are all about creating customer value and prioritising outcomes over output.
