About the Company: 

This major global brand and household name has become renowned for continuously driving innovation with technology. They have a commitment to customer satisfaction and a data-first mindset and are now looking for a Chapter Lead Product Owner to work with the Head of Digital Product to drive product management and delivery best practice. 

About the Role: 

The Product Development practice plays a key role in delivering innovative technologies for customers. As this is a newly created role you will have the opportunity to define and embed Product Owner best practice for the organisation. Managing a team of 10+ Product Owners you will demonstrate leadership qualities and be responsible for building a high-performing team that delivers on their commitments. 

Responsibilities: 

• Mentoring and coaching a team of Product Owner team with a focus on best practice and process uplift 
• Drive a customer and data-first mindset, setting and maintaining the framework to analyse important product metrics
• Liaise with the Product Management Lead to input into the overall product strategy and roadmaps
• Ensure the Product Owners are managing their backlogs effectively and prioritising the most critical features first
• Oversee day-to-day product development and product launches, ensuring you meet quality and performance standards
• Identify and mitigate potential risks that arise from new product launches
• Identify opportunities and proactively improve the Product practice, working
closely with Product Operations to develop new processes and frameworks
• Collaborate with stakeholders (including senior leadership) for alignment
• Actively participate in activities that highlight the value of product to Senior Leadership and business stakeholders

Key Result Areas: Increase the agility of strategic execution; Reduce the risk of execution; Drive on-time and on-budget project delivery; Manage PO resource allocation to meet demand cycles.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will inspire and guide others with a vision which aligns to the long-term strategy of the business. You will have hands-on experience managing product launches and proactively see potential pitfalls in delivery before it puts the delivery at risk. Your inquisitive attitude and willingness to ask if there is a better way of operating has resulted in delivery uplift, not just in velocity but in customer outcomes. 

You understand the opportunities a strong Product Team presents to an organisation and challenge the status quo to deliver world-class outcomes. 
You will exemplify self-organising behaviours, a continuous improvement mindset and an inclusive one-team culture, along with the following:
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven ability to coach, mentor and develop high-performing teams
  • Demonstrate inspiring leadership, motivating product teams, and achieving organisational goals in a timely manner
  • Well-developed PO skills with 7+ years’ experience as a PO/PM
  • Deep understanding of agile methodologies and their application
  • Evidence of improving product delivery processes, metrics and outcomes  
  • Superior stakeholder management and communication skills - an ability to build and manage relationships and create alignment is critical
  • Highly developed organisational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities to meet competing deadlines
  • You are a thought leader in the Product community.
