This high-growth software company, one of the largest of its kind in QLD, is partnering with BLACKROC to appoint a New Head of Human Resources. This organisation is a homegrown QLD success story and is on the brink of some big events in the coming 3 years. The state of affairs at present is in good order, you are not inheriting a mess, instead, you will walk into a great opportunity with the business and team around you, very much looking forward to your guidance towards greater things up ahead.
The opportunity;

The founders, self-made world-beaters, spotted a gap in the market more than a decade ago and made it their mission to service the market and become the best in the industry. With nearly 250 staff nationally and some big events on the horizon, this is an opportunity to join and make a real impact from the get.

Here you will have a seat on the executive committee, dealing directly with the founders and reporting into C-Suite. You will inherit an enthusiastic, humble and high-performing small team of HR & TA professionals, with long-serving tenures who actually deserve to be in their positions. We're looking for an experienced Head of HR  who can call a spade a spade, whilst being calm & calculated in their approach.

Ideally, you will come from a blue-chip corporate background and be ready to step up into a role like this where your technical HR experience will be called upon in more of a senior exec stand-alone role, advising to this businesses heads, whilst mentoring and leading your own team, and /or you'll have worked in a similar role within another founder lead organisation and be ready to begin your next HR transformation career challenge.

Core responsibilities:
  • Advice and counsel for Corporate function leadership
  • Human Resource and Talent Acquisition team leadership and mentorship
  • HR strategy and imperatives creation
  • HR strategic projects governance and HR brand stewardship
  • Responsible for HR development strategy
  • Counsel management through employee relations issues and legal matters, working with legal employment counsel if necessary.
  • Various strategic initiatives across multiple HR specialties including, but limited to, culture, diversity, talent acquisition, engagement, and employment brand building, IR & ER.
About You:
  • Highly experienced leading high-performing teams within a high-growth environment at progressive companies.
  • You will be someone who is known for their orderly approach. Good time management and personal efficiency are key.
  • Enjoy working across multiple high profile projects at once - working through new ideas and initiatives from the founder/s and managing their expectations.
  • Good at dealing with the grey situations, creative yet logical and pragmatic - A surprisingly large percentage of the day-to-day demands you're be dealing with are in “the grey area.” Is it discrimination? Is it harassment? What’s “reasonable” accommodation? HR Directors have to be able to act with incomplete and “best available” information, and they have to know when to seek professional help from senior colleagues, lawyers, and other experts.
  • You will be a competent & confident negotiator - Along with grey comes the need to negotiate—there are often two or more opposing views, and the successful HR Professional can find an acceptable middle ground. Remember, the goal of negotiation is to end up with two parties that are genuinely satisfied with the outcome, and that’s not often easy to achieve. Here's where your experience comes into play.
  • Being ethical is one of this organisations core values - you are the keeper of highly confidential information. You are entrusted to act upon and deal with confidential information appropriately.
  • Gifted people and change leader - Most companies today are in a constant state of flux. Task forces, organisational charts, and teams spring into being, do their jobs, and disband as others form. What's more, as the company growth continues to reach new heights, and initiatives evolve and even change from the founders it will amongst your main responsibilities to govern a calm ship, calculating the best way forward.
This opportunity is prime for a commercially-minded Human Resources professional that can move best in a fast-paced environment working with forward-thinking, like-minded founders and executives.
